Table 24

A Bowl of Thoughts

Projects > Commercial

There’s never a dull moment in Table 24, which serves New American cuisine in an Art Deco shophouse in historic Chinatown. Like its menu, which changes with the seasons and incorporates influences from various regions, the interior is eclectic and bursting with flavour.

We were brought to help tie everything together, consulting on design materials, spatial layout, and fabrication of the feature walls. Of the latter is a striking display of bowls mounted across one entire length of the restaurant — a visual representation of its melting-pot spirit.

There are speakers built into several of these bowls, enabling music to be piped in and enjoyed, and supplementing four larger speakers overhead to create a fuller sound. These sonic reinforcements come in especially handy on nights when the restaurant transforms into a venue for live music, keeping with Table 24’s long-time support of the local arts.
